Tropical Forestry and Agroforestry

The program provides students with a university education in forestry and agricultural production in (sub)tropical countries. It prepares them for professional roles in (agro)forestry management, projects, and research. The curriculum reflects the growing emphasis on agriculture, rural development, and natural resource protection in developing countries. Courses cover forest management, silviculture, water management, and conservation, with a special focus on agroforestry and smallholder farming systems in tropical regions.

Graduate profile

The goal of the program is to educate experts capable of making decisions, advising and conducting research connected with the management and protection of tropical forests and related agricultural production. Great emphasis is also placed on related agriculture and rural development in these countries.

Admission requirements

Admission procedure: 1. Selection of applicants based on submitted documents (annotation (in English) of the Bachelor thesis (or similar written output), the results of previously completed studies (or at least results of the last finished year; in the form of a statement of results) and the experience and prerequisites for the study contained in the CV and the letter of motivation).
Part of the 1st round is the Scio GAP online test in English focused on a general overview of the applicant - organized in cooperation with the Scio company.
2. Interview in English focused on the professional subject area according to the selected field of study.

Required documents: Successfully completed Bachelor (undergraduate) education, the certificate of which (either the original or its verified copy) will be required from the candidates when enrolling in their study, annotation of the Bachelor thesis (or similar written output), CV and a letter of motivation
