Tropical Agroecology (online)

Tropical Agroecology focuses on the study of interactions between plants, animals, humans and the environment within wider tropical and subtropical agricultural systems, taking into account the socio-economic aspects needed to develop sustainable and equitable food systems that support the Sustainable Development Goals. Agroecology combines science with traditional practices to provide long-term solutions to agricultural issues that empower local communities and producers.

Graduate profile

Successful Tropical Agroecology Graduates may find career opportunities as managers, experts, consultants and professional advisers in private companies, governmental and non-governmental institutions, organizations, and authorities; project managers focused on the preparation, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects focused primarily on sustainable food and agricultural systems; young scientists and researchers in the field of agriculture and ecology that are eligible to pursue a PhD or employment at universities and research institutes.

Admission requirements

Admission procedure:

1. Selection of applicants based on submitted documents
2. Interview in English focused on the professional subject area according to the selected field of study.

  1. A letter of motivation for joining the online programme
  2. Your Curriculum Vitae (CV), including any relevant experience (in Europass format)
  3. Copy of your Bachelor's Degree Certificate in Agriculture or a related Life Sciences field
