Why CZU
We prepare future global leaders in sustainability and environmentally responsible business. External guest lecturers, company visits, field trips, practical seminars, and case studies will equip you with practical skills to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.
According to the Global Peace Index (2023), Czechia is the 12th safest country in the world. Prague has the world’s 2nd best public transport system (Time Out, 2024) and is Europe’s 9th greenest capital city (Compare the Market, 2024).
Are you interested in ecology, natural resources, business, sustainable farming, engineering, or informatics? We offer more than 170 study programmes in various fields connected to life sciences, 60 of which are taught in English.
The campus offers many amenities, all in one place, from spacious lecture halls to affordable residence and dining halls, a library, lively entertainment, multi-functional sports centres, and lots of green spaces. In addition, we have our own CZU Forests, Winery and Farm Estate located off-campus.
Is ecology and responsibility important to you? For us, it is, so we are taking measures to impact the planet as little as possible. According to the international UI Green Metric World University Rankings (2023), we have the most sustainable campus in the Czech Republic and 36th in the world.
The tuition fees for English study programmes go from 500 EUR/year to 5,000 EUR/year. Students can receive accommodation at our student dormitories on campus (approx. 300 EUR/month). We also have several off-campus dormitories. Other living costs in the Czech Republic are relatively low compared to Western Europe.
A thriving campus life involves more than academics – it encompasses comfort, convenience, and support. The Advisory Centre and Counselling Centre for Students with Special Needs are there to support the well-being of our students.
Our campus is bustling with over 20,000 students. Every 3rd student is international. Our students also form several student organisations (e.g., Erasmus Student Network, AIESEC, CZU Prague Formula Racing,…). The campus is full of activities. Welcome Week, Prague Science Film Fest, Miss Agro, ice hockey match, and more events await you.
According to prestigious rankings, we are among the top five per cent of universities in the world. We succeed mostly in Agricultural, Forestry and Environmental Sciences. Quality assurance of educational activities is one of our institution’s core, long-term priorities.
Employment levels of CZU graduates have been consistently high for many years. The Czech Republic also boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in Europe.
